Just in from Sarah Hodgdson of Sierra Club
Big Oil is attacking your right to clean air.
There are proposals in both the Senate and House -- crafted by oil industry lobbyists -- that would gut the Clean Air Act and strip the EPA of its ability to fight global warming pollution.
Tell Congress we will not allow Big Oil to increase their profits by endangering our health and our nation's safety.
Last year oil and gas companies spent a record-breaking $154 million lobbying Congress to protect their billions in profits. Now oil companies want to buy their way out of being held responsible for the pollution they create.
It's time to remind our legislators that they represent us, not Big Oil lobbyists -- tell Congress to protect the Clean Air Act.
We can bolster American security through energy independence, but not if we continue to reward oil companies that do business with our enemies.1
We can create a clean energy economy here in the US and stop the flow of jobs overseas to counties like India and China,2 but not if we stay chained to oil's outdated, dirty technology.
We've been held hostage to Big Oil for long enough.
Contact Congress today and demand they stand up to Big Oil's assault on the Clean Air Act.
Thanks for all that you do.
